Going for Goals 2013
The final Going for Goals Assembly was on Tuesday 5th February 2013. The children in every class showed an example of what they had been working on during the theme.
Class 2 were able to talk about how they achieved their goals. They worked together and talked about being 'miracle learners'.
Class 3 wanted to go to a theme park so they explained to the school all the steps you need to go through in order to get there.
Class 4 decided what they needed to improve on and then broke that goal down into smaller steps, sometimes 5 small steps, sometimes 10.
Class 5 had discussed barriers to learning and made posters explaining what to do when they felt like giving up.
Class 6 had to teach each other a new skill, They talked about how good their partner was as a teacher and what helped them learn the new skill.
Class 7 learnt about people who had faced setbacks in reaching their goal and how they overcame them (e.g. Tanni Grey-Thompson using a wheelchair from the age of seven or Elvis Presley being told he couldn't sing). They set goals for when they are older to help them have the career they want.
