On a Friday lunch time, the knitting club meets in Class 7. Come and join us. Learn a new skill, help the poor and have fun at the same time.
For several years now, the knitting club has knitted lots of coloured squares. These are then sewn together to make very colourful blankets. These blankets get sent out to Chavuma in Zambia, through a charity called Medical Missionary. Mothers who come to have their babies in the materntiy hospital are given a blanket, a nappy, a knitted vest and a soft toy.
Mrs Flynn took three of the knitters along to a special inter-generational award evening in the Glen yr Afon Hotel, Usk, organised by Monmouthshire County Council. Our knitting club beat off strong competition from five other worthy competitors in the Bryn y Cwm area to walk home with the £100 first prize. Well done everyone!
